OUR COMPANY

ABOUT US

REG Bio-Power is part of the international Renewable Energy Group and operates through two subsidiaries in the UK, Living Fuels and Living Power.

The objective of REG Bio-Power is to supply the energy requirements of its clients in an efficient, environmentally sustainable and cost effective manner.

The company has developed an industry leading process which transfers energy from a renewable source, used cooking oil, into carbon neutral electricity. Used cooking oil contains unused energy that can be turned into a renewable fuel. One litre of used cooking oil can produce enough electricity for 240 cups of tea ! The patented process avoids any of the disadvantages associated with biofuels, primarily the addition of any chemicals or supplements. This recycled fuel is called LF100.

Used cooking oil is contained in certain biofuels, but has until now only been effective with the addition of chemicals and additives. This is what makes LF100 unique – it is produced by a completely additive free process. Companies can benefit from this carbon neutral electricity whether they produce used cooking oil or not – REG Bio-Power can provide the solution.

The importance of reducing carbon emissions and avoiding runaway climate change cannot be over-stated. Innovative developments like ours linked to the environmental objectives of our customers have a really important part to play in building Britain’s renewable energy capacity. The government has been supporting the recovery of waste cooking oils in reducing the use of fossil fuels and reducing carbon emissions since 2004.
